Feng Shui Home Design Tip:
Follow the Lead of Nature:
Get Ready for New Beginnings
|
|

|
|
Spring
is not the only time we are compelled to clear and cleanse.
In fact, for many cultures, it’s natural part of
life to detoxify and clear homes and bodies at the changing
of each season. With
our current lifestyles, where we are feeling compelled to
run faster and faster just to stay where we are, it takes
real intention and commitment to get and remain organized,
clear and ready to accept all the goodness that can come our
way.
Feng Shui sees our homes as a direct correlation
of our bodies and our lives.
You may notice that you feel sluggish as the seasons
change, a lot of time it’s a detoxifying reaction.
We have gotten away from the health rituals of the
Ancient past (Ayurveda, Macrobiotics, Kabbalah) and are just
now beginning to reclaim this knowledge.
And it is a health imperative:
Out with the Bad, In with the Good!
Here
are some things to consider when the bug to get clean hits:
Start. Just start.
Clean one drawer, one closet, one anything.
You’ll feel better.
Be ruthless with clutter. Patty
Kreamer, a
local
Pittsburgh
professional organizer says, “Clutter is just unmade
decisions.” Make
the decision to store, throw away or donate and do it! Call
a friend, a professional
organizer (I can highly recommend this!), turn the music
WAY up and get to it. Invite
a friend to keep you on task or set a timer to keep it
manageable. When
you are done: take a long cool shower to clear any
negativity from your energy body.
Extremely
Important:
Don’t make it hard on the rest of the people in
your house…don’t make it a drudge, if you can help
it…and for heaven’s sake, don’t make your kids hate
you…make it a game if you can and use this formula with
kids: 6-10 yrs: 2 minutes for each year of their age, 10-18,
3 minutes for each year.
You are building life skills, not life sentences.
Try to make it a game, and if you don’t have the
organizational skills, you can’t teach them.
Get help: I have worked personally with Jodi
Eisner, and friends of mine also highly recommend Vicki
Dellaquilla; check the Pittsburgh
Professional Organizers web and choose one that suits
you.
Walk through the house with a laundry basket and put everything
that doesn’t belong in the room into it.
Sort it into personal baskets or piles when you get
to the trash can…and don’t look back.
TIP: Save time sorting the loose pieces or parts of
things: have a box or bin for loose parts where every part
or piece that is not attached goes.
When need it, you’ll know where to look.
Autumn
coming and the Harvest is upon us, but it is important that
we are ready to receive it.
Clearing and detoxing needn’t be a hard, but to
live a life in balance and joy, it does need to be done.

Natural Cleaners: Work Like Magic
with no Toxic Lifestyle!
|
|
|
|
Using household items as cleaners cuts
down on toxic off-gassing from chemicals.
Here’s a short list of a few ideas:
Have a spray bottle of ½ rubbing
alcohol and ½ water to wipe off fingerprints from
stainless steel.
Baking soda sprinkled on carpets, left
for a few moments then vacuumed, will remove odors and
keep the vac bag clean.
Clean showers, bathtubs, sinks with
baking soda and vinegar.
(smell bad? Not really).
The baking soda stays granulated (to work off
soap residue) until you add the vinegar, which bubbles
and leaves the area sparkling and fresh (remember the
volcanoes you used to make?) and it works.
Add ½ cup baking soda to your laundry
to soften and help detergent work better.
Use ½ white vinegar and ½ cold water
to lift carpet stains.
Throw your toothbrush, drain stoppers,
sponges, stovetop grates, even grill grates into the
dishwasher…saves time and they get really clean.
(I even put a baseball cap in once and it was
amazingly clean and no crunched bill).
Throw your vinyl shower curtain and
mattress pads into the wash with extra baking soda and
¼ vinegar (with some detergent ~ Seventh Generation
makes a great line of Environmentally Friendly
products. You
can buy them at Giant Eagle). Natural cleaners cut
down on toxic off-gassing from chemicals.
Open a window every chance you get.
Open your front door every chance you get.
It moves the chi, lightens the energy and
clears out the stagnant air.
Have your air ducts cleaned. I
don’t even want to tell you the gory stories about
this one.
Have a pile to sell things on ebay or
take it to an ebay resaler.
Look for an ebay drop
off franchise in your area.
Getting
clear and clean leaves you with extra energy, extra
time and a brighter outlook.
But it takes extra work up front…kind of like
exercise, but it’s benefits are immeasurable!

Your health is your most important personal resource and an
essential element at the heart of successful living. Your
daily choices about what you eat and how you live affect
your mood, energy, health, relationships and ability to
concentrate and handle stress. You can look and feel better

limitations and health concerns. You can have more energy,
be better able to concentrate, manage your moods and stress,
and focus your energy and thoughts.
Take
a preventative and proactive approach to your life based on
a more natural, holistic way of living. Learn new ways to
create your life by consciously choosing how you live, your
thoughts, food, lifestyle, and emotions. Realize:
Uncover your source of stress and disease.
Move out of stagnation, fear, emotional pain, depression.
Our consultations and seminars help you to learn to:
·

to your body so you know what feels “good” and when you
are off balance

how food choices affect your health, increase your energy,
and reduce your risk for and even reverse many chronic
illnesses
Discover how to bring energy and vitality to
your life through our seminars and your Personal Life

Quick Tip:
Natural
Pain & Burn Relief:
I just
have to share this with you:
Lavender Essential has saved me more times than I can
count:
Once I
burned myself on the element while taking a dish from the
oven. I grabbed
the Lavender Essential Oil I had nearby and doused the area.
I missed a spot but got most of it.
What occurred was, where the oil touched, no burn,
nothing! The
small spot I missed stung and blistered.
My sons were there while I did this and they were
amazed.
I
recently got a really bad sunburn.
As I was on vacation I only had a bottle of Lavender
with me. I
gave it a try and put the oil all over my arms and face.
Not much happened.
So I applied another coat about 10 minutes later.
It WORKED! The
burn faded and no painful sunburn, just a nice little tan.
Pain
Relief:
Another
story. While on vacation, my son wanted to kayak. We kayaked
for 4 hours in the straits in
Alaska
looking for (and finding) the running salmon.
I didn’t know how much that would hurt.
When we got back to our ship, I took Arnica but
frequently enough. By
11:00 pm
my eyes were tearing, the pain was exquisite.
I
decided to be methodical about it and every 20 minutes I
took 4 pellets of the homeopathic Arnica and rubbed Arnica
on my arms and neck each 20 minutes also.
I was determined, as this was the ONLY thing I could
do. At one point
I dozed and I was awakened by a sensation that felt like
removing long gloves from my fingertips to my shoulders, and
with that very clear motion, removed the pain completely.
This time I was crying with amazement.
Also,
Check out THIS product: My
dear Friend, Linda Jones, introduced me to this.
Linda was amazed at how this worked and so am I.
It used
to be called “The Perfect Remedy” but the name as now
changed to Topricin.
